All About Me…

Looking in the rearview….

I grew up in a fantastic small county with about ten people and my family is five of them.  Nah…but it is very small and mostly farming or factory.  My dad is  a wonderful man in which I am so blessed to have him in my life.  I am def a Daddy’s Girl!!  My mom is a wonderful woman who went back at 43 to get her BA Degree in teaching!  We are all very proud of her. I have two fantastic brothers who God smiles on everyday. Inside and out they are better than me.  They have the greatest hearts in the world and I can only hope that they love me as much as I love them.  I spent a wonderful childhood growing up on a farm, building forts and playing war.

Adjusting the focus….

I met Aron when I was life guarding at our community pool.  We started dating in my senior year of high school and haven’t been apart since.  I know that beyond a shadow of doubt we are soul mates.  I never have nor want to be with anyone else and he is my best friend.  ok….enough sappiness for me…. We got married in July of 2005.  He entered North Carolina Highway Patrol School in October and spent the first seven months of our marriage in Raleigh. Wow! That was fun….sike!  So we were newly married, newly employed and newly homeless! HA HA!  We built a beautiful house in the next year!

The view through the windshield…..

Aron and I have two amazing dogs who bring an enormous amout of joy to us!  Thier names are Havok (doberman) and Diesel (great dane).  They both require a lot of attention and a lot of play time!  We spend so much time with them.  We also spend lots of time with our family and at church. Both Aron and I have an extreme faith. We love God and are thankful for what he has done for us!  I spend a lot of time singing in the praise band and hanging out at church.

Our gear……

Aron and I love being active. We kiteboard, wakeboard, snowboard, etc.  We work out on a daily basis and enjoy yoga! We also love playing the Wii!  I love having Wii parties at my house with friends. We spend our summers at the outer banks because it is the kiteboarding capital.  We spend a lot of winters in the mountains.  Summers are spent at the pool, beach, biking and white water rafting. We just love being out and about….

Mountains or Valleys…

Aron has two fantastic sisters who have girls.  His oldest sister is rough around the edges but one of the greatest people I know. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer three years ago.  When they found it, it had already become stage four and prognosis wasn’t good. However I have watched her bounce from chemo to remission and back.  I have watched her hair fall out and come back.  But I have not watched her fall apart.  She shows me and teaches more everyday. In December, some of my test results from an exam came back weird and I began the testing phase for ovarian cancer myself.  Fear rocketed through our family and all of my safe places. What was I going to do?  Thanks be to God that my tests came back negative and only a surgery was needed.  However, just the scare was enough to put my life into perspective.  I now have an awesome out look on life!
